S. sites, the Sumter site director for Foundever spoke with The Sumter Item on the new jobs, qualities and characteristics they are looking for in new workers and the application process. Sumter native Maurice Ransom leads the local call center operation and said that Foundever is adding online chatting as a customer service feature with its major brand client - whose name he could not reveal - necessitating the workforce expansion.
Traditionally, the call center has just handled incoming phone calls with the client, he said. According to Ransom, the Sumter operation is now looking to add 200 to 215 employees. All positions are full-time and permanent and would not be affected by any seasonal variations. Currently Foundever Sumter has between 580 and 590 employees and the additions will bring the local workforce total to about 780 to 800, he added. The call center operates 24 hours a day and seven days a week with various shifts. Ransom has been with the operation for 16 years and since the call center opened in Sumter Mall in 2010 as Sykes.
