The American semiconductor giant Qualcomm announced the acquisition of Israeli cybersecurity company SAM Seamless Network. According to information from Globes, the transaction amount exceeds 100 million dollars. Founded by its CEO Sivan Rauscher and its Vice President Shmuel Chafets, a partner at the venture capital fund Target Global, SAM Seamless Network had raised approximately 30 million dollars since its creation. Its last funding round, conducted in 2021, valued the company at approximately 60 million dollars. Historical investors include Blumberg Capital, Mindset Ventures, and Spark Labs Group.

They were later joined by Intel Capital, Verizon Ventures, and BlackBerry. This acquisition is part of the strategy of Qualcomm CEO, Cristiano Amon, who favors targeted acquisitions. Last year, Qualcomm notably acquired Israeli company Autotalks for approximately 80 to 90 million dollars, after an initial agreement signed in 2024 that envisioned a transaction exceeding 300 million dollars. This acquisition perfectly integrates into the strategy recently presented by Cristiano Amon at the Computex show in Taipei. Qualcomm aims to develop processors capable of executing more processing and artificial intelligence operations directly on devices ("edge devices"), particularly home and personal equipment.

This approach reduces the load on data centers while improving performance for users. To secure this increase in local data processing, Qualcomm seeks to strengthen protection mechanisms against cyberattacks and disruptions. SAM Seamless Network develops cybersecurity solutions designed to protect user-side communication networks, whether at the household level or connections between telecom operators and their subscribers. The company collaborates with Internet service providers, network equipment manufacturers, and telecom operators worldwide.

Its solutions currently secure over 15 million networks and ensure the protection and supervision of nearly 500 million devices.
