PepsiCo has appointed Joaquin Duato to its board of directors and as an independent member of its audit committee, effective in December. Duato has spent more than three decades at Johnson & Johnson, and most recently stepped into the roles of chairman and CEO in 2023 and 2022. He previously served as vice chairman of the executive committee and worldwide chairman in pharmaceuticals, as well as in other positions leading business sectors spanning consumer health and technology. In this regard, PepsiCo’s chairman and CEO Ramon Laguarta said Duato “has played a key role in driving strategic transformation, portfolio optimisation and innovation at the company,” since joining the healthcare company in 1989.
” Robert C Pohlad, chair of the board’s nominating and corporate governance committee, also emphasised that Duato brings extensive expertise to the table, especially in overseeing a large global organisation amid highly regulated and rapidly evolving markets.
