MOBILE, Ala. ( WALA ) - The Mobile Chamber posted in “The Business View” this week that Airbus Projects to Generate $82 Million in Investment and 50 New Jobs in Mobile. Here is the post: MOBILE, Ala. – Airbus is investing more than $82 million in projects supporting the continued growth of its commercial aircraft operations in Mobile, creating 50 new jobs. S. Manufacturing Facility and the new Airbus Central Distribution Center, or ACDC, scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2027. Located at 1501 Raven Drive, the ACDC will serve as a centralized distribution center supporting Airbus’ Final Assembly Line operations at the Brookley Aeroplex.
S. ” Airbus will install solar canopies and other energy systems at its main manufacturing campus and the new distribution center. The improvements are designed to reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions at the company’s Mobile facilities. “Airbus continues to strengthen Mobile’s position in the global aerospace industry through investments that create jobs, support expanded production and improve the efficiency of its local operations,” said Mobile Chamber President and CEO Bradley Byrne. ” The projects represent another significant investment in the Mobile region’s growing aerospace industry.
“Airbus has been a tremendous partner to the city and a wonderful corporate citizen. I’m proud to see their commitment to Mobile expand with these investments,” said Mobile Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis. ” “Airbus has been an outstanding partner in Mobile County’s growth, and this investment reflects its continued confidence in our workforce, infrastructure, and community,” said Mobile County Commission President Connie Hudson. ” Airbus began producing commercial aircraft in Mobile in 2015 and has continued to grow its local operations, workforce and supplier network.
