The deal was finalized in early 2026, months before the public announcement landed on LinkedIn and NextSlide’s website around August 7-8. Financial terms weren’t disclosed, which tracks with how OpenAI typically handles smaller acquisitions.
NextSlide was founded by Ahmed Beshry in mid-2025 with a straightforward premise: take messy notes, prompts, and documents and turn them into presentation-ready slides using AI. Beshry credited Fidji Simo, OpenAI’s CEO of AGI deployment, with recognizing the startup’s vision and facilitating the acquisition.
