SparkOptimus, a Dutch digital strategy consultancy, has been acquired by global professional services firm EY-Parthenon. Founded in 2010, SparkOptimus has grown into a firm of around 50 consultants based in Amsterdam, with a small team also operating in the DACH region. The firm specialises in digital strategy, including AI transformation , digital business model redesign and technology-driven transformation, and has received multiple awards for its work over the years. Alexandra Jankovich and Tom Voskes, the founders and managing partners of SparkOptimus (both ex-McKinsey), said that joining EY-Parthenon marks the next step in the firm’s journey and will create significant value for both its clients and people.
“We are incredibly proud of what we have built at SparkOptimus. Together with an exceptional team and ambitious clients, we have created a firm known for combining sharp strategy with a relentless focus on making transformation actually happen,” said Jankovich. Voskes added: “Joining EY-Parthenon is a deliberate next step in that journey. It gives our people new opportunities, gives our clients access to a much broader set of capabilities, and allows us to bring what makes SparkOptimus special to an even larger stage. ” EY-Parthenon is the strategy consulting and transactions advisory business of EY.
The firm was established in 2014 following the acquisition of a boutique US strategy consultancy and has since grown into a global business with around 25,000 professionals. EY-Parthenon has completed around a dozen acquisitions since its establishment, including a major internal transaction involving EY’s own strategy and transactions teams . The bolt-on of SparkOptimus marks EY-Parthenon’s first European acquisition since 2021.
