What Are News Event Signals?
News events are the broadest category of business intelligence signals, covering funding announcements, acquisitions, product launches, partnerships, expansions, and executive appointments. Unlike SEC filings, which cover only public companies, news event signals span public and private companies.
Autobound extracts 30+ distinct news event subtypes from thousands of media sources. Each event is classified by type, enriched with company and contact data, scored for relevance, and delivered within days of publication, with entity resolution attributing coverage to the right company regardless of how publications name it. Each signal also carries a sales_relevance field explaining why the event matters for outbound: a Series C round means validated product-market fit and imminent scaling, not just financial news.
