Employee growth signals measure confirmed headcount change, not hiring intent. Autobound analyzes LinkedIn employee data for 2M+ companies, computing headcount and year-over-year growth for 26 departments plus 6, 12, and 24-month company-wide growth rates. Where hiring trends show open postings, these signals show who actually joined.
The signal family has 29 subtypes: 26 department-specific growth signals (departmentalGrowthEngineering, departmentalGrowthSales, and so on) plus three pattern signals. multiDepartmentRapidGrowth fires when 3+ departments grow at least 5% YoY, departmentalReallocation flags headcount shifting between functions, and normalizedGrowthSignal grades growth against company size. Each record carries the full 26-department breakdown, revenue range, median tenure, and a 0-1 relevance score.
