What Are Hiring Velocity Signals?
Hiring velocity measures how aggressively a company is hiring relative to its size. Autobound computes open roles as a percentage of current headcount across 21M+ companies, then compares roles opened in the last 30 days against the prior 30 and 60 days to classify each company as accelerating, steady, or decelerating.
Each signal breaks hiring down by department, location, and seniority, so you can see whether growth means 50 engineers in Austin or 200 seasonal retail hires. A 40-person company with 12 open roles (30% of headcount) is in hyper-growth even though the absolute number looks small. Signals refresh weekly.
