Common questions
Is there a free tier?
Yes. Create an account at signalapi.autobound.ai and get an API key with free credits. No sales call. Upgrade when you need more volume.
Do I need to write code?
No. The Signal portal answers plain-language questions. Clay's HTTP column and any tool with an HTTP step can call the API. The MCP server needs one short config, then you ask questions in Claude or Cursor.
What does a contact lookup return?
The contact's own signals, such as job changes and LinkedIn posts, plus the resolved employer. If the contact has no signals yet, you still get the company's signals in the same response.
Which signals make the best first line?
Anything with a quote and a date: an earnings call, a funding announcement with the round, a leadership hire named in the news, a product launch. The record includes the source so you can cite it.
