Hey guys, we just moved into the Dayton area and have AES for our electric. I've been getting quite frustrated seeing our electric bills being over $1,000 for every two months and I'm trying to ask around for what people's service rates are from a yes. Our service rate per month just to keep the electricity turned on is $280. Our previous home from the Cleveland area was only $53. What the hell is going on?!? Please let me know your AES service charge as I'm am planning on a pretty in-depth call to get this fixed.

  • “The delivery charge is tied to usage, its not a flat rate.  So if you used no electricity it would not cost you 280 to keep it on.  comparing it with other people wont matter because if someone pays 80 because they use way less it wouldn't matter to you.  You can compare your rate and make sure it isnt crazy high, but thats supply not delivery.  Also comparing to old property doesnt matter unless”

  • “Our delivery charge this last billing cycle was $250. Going back the last several months, it has fluctuated in the $90-200 range, because it's based off of usage.”

  • “Data centers. Mike Dewine and local councils love data centers and you are footing the bill for them to operate. How do people STILL not know this?”

  • “$83 last month, $158 this month with no significant change from my usual habits. THANKS FOR DEREGULATING THE UTILITIES SO WE CAN ALL PAY FOR DATACENTERS, OHIO!”
