Now, the mystery has been solved. The actor's company, Artists Equity, told The Hollywood Reporter that the natural wordplay between the names was inspiration for the campaign. Josh Jefferis of Artists Equity also said part of the team's job is to build a story worthy of the Aflac Duck. According to Aflac, the Aflac Duck and its signature quack were introduced to the world in 2000, and the mascot has appeared in more than 100 commercials since then.
