Ferrara: Air Products exit would mean $1M loss for Port Manchac's annual budget. * By Richard Meek AN17.com * Feb 18, 2026 Updated Feb 18, 2026 At their February meeting, South Tangipahoa Parish Port Commissioners considered the impact of Air Products potentially leaving Tangipahoa Parish in as little as 15 months and the economic impact that would have on the Port's annual budget. Commission president Daryl Ferrara informed commissioners of Air Products' potential future during their Feb. 11 meeting. Ferrara said he and other port officials had met with Air Products and was told work has been idled for the past four months at Lake Maurepas. Air Products has had a lease at the Port for the last several years, utilizing the Manchac facility as a convenient lay-down yard and storage site for their work in neighboring Livingston Parish. Ferrara said Air Products' original four-year contract also included two one-year options. That lease is expiring in June, and Ferrara said the company has asked for and was granted two six-month options instead of the two one-year add-ons. In an interview after the meeting, Ferrara told AN17.com that he had recently met with Jeff Belleo, a regional operations manager with Air Products, and was told the company's workforce in Louisiana totals just four employees.
