I am currently entertaining a choice between Booz Allen (defense sector) and MITRE and I'm wondering what people think about the two compared to each other as I try to decide. Here are my initial thoughts: Booz Allen: - I don't like how fragmented it seems from some friends who work there (they live/work in VA and D.C.) - I like it's consulting vibe and the large range of options (but this only does so much for me) - I like that it's a household name in government/defense contracting (I don't know much about MITRE in this regard) - It seems to have a healthy bench from what I've heard. - I like that you can eventually get paid a lot if you stick around long enough but I also don't know if I see myself sticking around in the defense sector forever and there are more important things to me than pursuing the absolute highest salary possible. - It's tuition reimbursement and 401k match are good enough for me not to complain especially given its higher compensation scale relative to MITRE MITRE: - I absolutely love its McLean campus (where I'd be working), how big it is, and I've been there many times and just loved the vibe and the community. - I *really* like it's academic vibe and its emphasis on research - I wish it had as wide a range of opportunities as Booz Allen or that it was a large as Booz. - I don't know what the health status of its bench is. - I do love...

[comment u/Educational_Fox2212] BAH does not have a great rep and they are losing contracts from what I’ve heard.
[comment u/Chocowark] All positive culture at BAH has leaked out since they went public. BAH is all about billability and does not care about your career progression.
[comment u/thisisallme] BAH is very much butt-in-seat positions, so it’s very staff aug versus the consulting you think of it as.
