Costa Rica, July 2026 – A Guatemalan producer presented her business achievements to the Vice President of the Republic. A Honduran micro-entrepreneur doubled her income and today exceeds the national average. A Costa Rican entrepreneur transformed her coffee production into her own brand with a presence at fairs throughout the country. These are different stories, but they share the same result: greater economic autonomy for rural women in Central America, a result of the joint work between Cargill and CARE. Based on these results, Cargill, in alliance with CARE, announces the start of Nurturing the Future IV, the fourth phase of a program that over the next three years will allocate $3.5 million to strengthen the income, leadership, and resilience of women producers and micro-entrepreneurs in Central America. The initiative will be developed in 44 communities in Costa Rica, Honduras, and Guatemala, with the goal of directly benefiting 5,500 people, of whom at least 70% will be women.Impact Figures The results support the decision to expand their investment. Between 2022 and 2025, Nurturing the Future directly reached more than 24,000 people in 89 Central American communities, of whom 13,689 were women.
