Mars alum Kristen Campos joins Carnival Cruise Line as CCO. MIAMI: Carnival Cruise Line has named Kristen Campos as chief communications officer, effective February 2. Campos succeeds Chris Chiames, who is retiring after eight years in the position. Chiames will remain with the company until May 15 to facilitate a smooth transition. Carnival president Christine Duffy shared the news internally with company leaders on Tuesday. Campos will oversee a portfolio that includes public relations, internal communications, guest communications, events and government affairs. She will initially report to Chiames. It was not immediately clear who Campos will report to once Chiames departs. In an email to PRWeek, Campos said she is "excited to contribute to Carnival's continued momentum while learning from such experienced and inspiring leaders [such as Duffy]. Most recently, Campos served as vice president of corporate affairs at Mars Food & Nutrition. Tamar Nersesian is succeeding her in that role, a Mars spokesperson told PRWeek.
