GREENVILLE, Pitt County - A longtime Greenville Chick-fil-A is reopening at a new location this week with a new name, an indoor playground and 60 additional jobs. Chick-fil-A University Commons will reopen as Chick-fil-A University Blvd. at 320 SW Greenville Blvd. on Thursday, Sept. 24. The restaurant is scheduled to open at 10:30 a.m. The original University Commons restaurant closed Sept. 15. Chick-fil-A said the newly built restaurant will feature a dual-lane drive-thru designed to accommodate more vehicles. That includes a dedicated Mobile Thru lane for customers who place orders ahead of time through the Chick-fil-A app. The location will also feature an indoor playground, additional outdoor seating, expanded parking and outdoor canopies for customers and employees. The company said the restaurant is adding 60 full- and part-time jobs, bringing its total staff to 160 employees. Local owner-operator Ben Dixon will continue operating the restaurant. Chick-fil-A said the location has been part of the Greenville community for more than 37 years. "After 37 years of serving the Greenville community, I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to begin this next chapter with our Guests and Team Members," Dixon said.
