“We're dealing with a situation today in fusion where the toolset available to the innovator is just so much broader and deeper than it was even five years ago. You can drastically accelerate things that we used to think took a long time. So we shouldn't deceive ourselves into thinking that things have to go slow.” That’s our CEO and Co-founder Bob Mumgaard, speaking this week at the G20 Innovation Ministerial in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Technology progress that once seemed plodding can dramatically accelerate, and today, many of fusion’s limits are not because of research and development but simply how fast we can build hardware and facilities, he said. Check the video below to watch his full comments at the event, which featured Secretary of Commerce Howard W. Lutnick, White House Office of Science & Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios, and others on matters like industrial innovation; the policy, supply chains, and workforce development that supports it; and the prosperity that can result.
