Hey realtor fam, I recently moved back to WA state after selling RE in Arizona for the past 8 years and joined the brokerage my family works for out of convenience and I feel like I’m getting screwed over in fees. I’m on a 70/30 split and have $22k cap, + a 5% franchise fee, $95 “Tech fee” for a generic website and a sales force CRM. I don’t get any leads or expect any leads from them, so I do all my own prospecting. To be honest, I’m not impressed with what this brokerage provides and it’s hard for me to want to stay here because I don’t see the value in paying so much upfront and I need to retain as much of my commission as possible while I’m rebuilding my database. Curious, what are some solid brokerages that have a good reputation who don’t overcharge you in fees? Curious, could anyone who work for Compass, eXp, Real Broker or Windermere give their honest opinion about how they like it? Those are the ones I’m considering but open to other options.

  • [comment u/SirScruggsalot] The Compass vs eXp choice depends on how much you value a physical office. Here in Austin, both have thriving cultures -- they are just different.

What I love about real: - lower cap compared to other cap models - our network is very very useful and adds value to our business - company stock match - this helped us leverage our assets and helped us make a life move internally faster than expected - stock bonuses wi”
