As Dataminr’s Global Field CTO and Chief Cybersecurity Strategist, Tim Miller heard a common theme from CISOs at Black Hat last week: patching faster is no longer a viable strategy. The data backs this up. Median time-to-patch stretched to 43 days in the first half of 2026, while average attacker breakout time fell under 30 minutes. The 2026 Verizon DBIR found vulnerability exploitation just passed stolen credentials as the #1 breach entry point, for the first time in 19 years. The second theme: threat intel that is delivered without contextual relevance to your unique environment is just adding noise to your analysts' already busy workloads. Anthropic's Mythos model alone surfaced 1,752 high- and critical-severity vulnerabilities in open-source code within months of launching. Adversaries are using AI to exploit these vulnerabilities faster than ever. Without knowing which threats could actually impact the business, analysts are left doing guesswork and manual research. Security teams need tools that help them judge what matters against their own controls before adversaries makes that call for them.
