WAUKESHA - Generac announced it will add more than 100 manufacturing jobs with the acquisition of a new facility in Sussex, expanding its Commercial & Industrial operations to meet growing demand for backup power, particularly from data centers. The company purchased Quad/Graphics' former High Tech Centre at N64-W23110 Main St. for $20 million, according to a deed filed with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. The 200,000-square-foot, two-story building sits directly across from Quad's global headquarters and main printing plant. Generac said the Sussex facility will expand manufacturing capacity for its Commercial & Industrial products, which have posted strong year-over-year growth. The site will complement Generac's new plant in Beaver Dam and expanded operations in Oshkosh.
