BOSTON, Mass. (WJAR) - Exactly one year after Hasbro announced it would move its headquarters from Pawtucket to Boston, there's been little apparent movement across the state line. Maker of Monopoly, Play-Doh and Mr. Potato Head, the toy and board game company was founded in Providence in the early 1920s and spent more than a century in the Ocean State. But in September of 2025, Hasbro announced a move to Massachusetts, reporting that 700 full-time employees were set to relocate to a new 265,000-square-foot space on Summer Street in Boston's Seaport District. As of Tuesday, there's no sign of the toy giant at the new location. Hasbro posted to social media announcing that it's looking to officially establish the new headquarters in January. Pawtucket Mayor Don Grebien told NBC 10 last week that employees are just now receiving transfer dates or severance packages. "They're going to start moving in November," he said. "I don't know if they'll be all out or just partial out. But again, they're not talking to us. They're not talking to the state. So we're getting it through some of the employees that we know."
