Coinciding with the publication of NIST's final migration roadmap (NIST IR 8547) , IBM has commercially released IBM Quantum Safe at its annual TechXchange conference . The unified software portfolio integrates strategic assessment, automated source-code discovery, and dynamic network mediation to transition enterprise IT estates toward post-quantum cryptography (PQC). Building on IBM's earlier deployment of Guardium Cryptography Manager in 2025, the platform is designed to assist commercial enterprises and government agencies in meeting binding federal migration deadlines starting in 2030. The operational bottleneck in post-quantum modernization rarely lies in the algorithms themselves, but rather in finding where vulnerable public-key dependencies reside across millions of lines of legacy code and sprawling hybrid IT estates. To validate the tooling prior to commercial release, IBM applied Quantum Safe Explorer internally across its own CIO office, scanning more than 47 million lines of code across 5,815 software repositories and identifying over 3,900 cryptographic issues for remediation. By combining automated Cryptography Bill of Materials (CBOM) generation with a network-level proxy layer, the platform enables organizations to address "harvest now, decrypt later" (HNDL) exposure in transit before undergoing multi-year core application rebuilds. The release...
