iCapital expands Hong Kong office as Asia wealth demand grows. US fintech firm iCapital has more than doubled its office footprint in Hong Kong, leasing a 9,000 sq ft space at One International Finance Centre in Central as it expands to meet growing demand for wealth management services in Asia. The company, which opened its Hong Kong office five years ago, has moved from St George's Building on Ice House Street to the new prime office space as it prepares for its next phase of growth, according to Tuan Lam, head of Asia-Pacific at iCapital. "We've seen a lot of business growth, and now we're planning for the next three years of growth, as we continue to see the wealth channel increasing," Lam said. "This is in response to strong client demand, business growth and the need to create the space so we can grow and serve our clients well in the region." The new office is expected to accommodate between 55 and 60 staff by 2029, around double the company's current headcount in the city, Lam added. iCapital's expansion comes as Hong Kong's wealth management sector continues to grow. The city overtook Switzerland last year as the world's largest cross-border wealth hub, according to Boston Consulting Group.
