How does everyone navigate using the Indian big 5/6? Interviewed six since Monday - needed two Tech Payments BAs and one Delivery Manager. Mandated to use Hotel Charlie Lima (although I’m throwing Inf*sys under the bus too for previous form). Complete fucking waste of time - they’ve attempted to push really shit candidate square pegs into round holes (and that’s being kind). One guy was clearly a QA but they’d put him for the BA role (which needs a lot of face-to-face with Product Manager). Working assumption - Indian Co have used Indian Co agencies on their PSL. So the guys that advertise for Senior SME etc with a max rate of £320 Inside with 3 days onsite. The usual suspects involved so no need to name. Is there an option for sourcing guys myself, giving them to Indian supplier X and saying “We want this, guy, put him on your books and fucking pay him properly so he doesn’t fuck off as soon as a better role comes along?”

  • [comment u/chandz] Cognizant, iGate, Infosys et al are all System Integrators. The will always send their least capable and wait and see if they get rejected.

  • “Up your rate. Hire proper people with experience. I wouldn’t work for 320 inside and 3 days in office. I’m a senior engineer, and I’m currently 750 inside fully remote. You’re paying peanuts, using these crappy IT Indian sweatshops but you’re expecting quality? 😂”

If not, great, the Client ends up training them up all the time the SI getting paid for it. It's laughable. Unless you reject the crap candidates they won't offer the competent ones. We had people offshore, incompetent, just out of UNI with no clue, imperson”
