John Deere is bringing more than 375 employees back to work at its Quad Cities operations, but the United Auto Workers says the move falls well short of what the union wants to see ahead of contract negotiations in 2027. The company announced Monday that 150 employees will return to Seeding and Cylinder Operations in Moline, Illinois, while approximately 225 will return to Harvester Works in East Moline. Deere says the latest callbacks bring the number of employees it has hired or brought back across Iowa and Illinois to more than 800 since January. According to Deere, the additional workers will help build dealer inventory ahead of upcoming planting and harvest cycles while supporting the company's longer-term production plans.
