I am preparing for a 30 minutes phone screen interview with LAM as a Process Engineer. I'm a new college grad. Can anyone help with some tips. PS: This interview is with the hiring manager

  • [comment u/Jazzlike-Bat7317] Lam has been hiring some PE1s again recently with their current headcount goals so this is a relatively rare opportunity but they will treat it similar to a new PhD.

  • “Phone screen with the hiring manager? Thats odd. Phone screening is usually piece of cake just going over your resume details”

  • “Lam has been hiring some PE1s again recently with their current headcount goals so this is a relatively rare opportunity but they will treat it similar to a new PhD. That being said, interviews are usually an interview with the HM, then skip level (bosses boss) and then a technical presentation with a couple engineers on the team you’ll be apart of. Good luck!”

  • “I also had a phone screen with a manager for a different role at LAM but it was basically just them saying what the company does and role expectations and a brief overview on my experience. Pretty sure this is a free round.”

  • “I had phone screen interview for process engineer role. Prepare to explain your research briefly (can make 1-2 slides) and they might ask about how you trouble shoot an issue in your projects. They mostly explain about the role and what LAM does.”

  • “Congrats on the call with Lam Research! For a 30-minute screen with the hiring manager, expect a mix of your background coursework, basic plasma/etch/CVD fundamentals, and why Lam specifically. Feel free to send me a DM!”
