One of the world's great music cities is about to get the venue many believe it has long deserved. Live Nation Entertainment and Cidade Center Norte have announced plans for São Paulo Arena, a purpose-built, world-class venue that will become the largest indoor live entertainment arena in South America. The 21,000-capacity arena will rise within the Cidade Center Norte district through a Live Nation-led joint venture, giving Latin America's largest city a venue designed specifically for concerts and major sporting events. Construction is expected to begin during the second half of 2026, with the arena scheduled to open in 2028. São Paulo Arena is expected to host more than 200 concerts and sporting events every year while welcoming over 2 million attendees annually. Beyond providing a new home for international tours and Brazilian performers, the project is projected to create thousands of jobs, strengthen tourism, and generate significant economic activity throughout the country. According to Oxford Economics, the arena is expected to generate nearly US$160 million in direct attendee spending and more than US$311 million in annual economic impact across Brazil by its fifth year of operation.
