OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) - An Overland Park-based company that works to help provide prescription price transparency confirmed it is laying off employees. Rx Savings Solutions opened in 2012 before expanding in 2019. The McKesson Corporation bought the company in 2022. A spokesperson for the McKesson Corporation said the company is working to streamline operations. "... we are focusing on simplifying and streamlining how we operate while increasing our focus on growth and innovation. As part of this evolution, we are realigning our organization to support these priorities. As a result, some roles will change, move, or be eliminated," McKesson said in a statement. McKesson already laid off 78 employees in Buffalo, NY, in May. The company did not say how many employees will be impacted in the latest round of layoffs, however the company has not filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining, or WARN, notice. Companies with 100 or more employees are required to file a WARN notice when planning mass layoffs. " We are deeply grateful to our colleagues for their contributions and dedication. We are committed to supporting employees through this transition with care, transparency, and the resources they need during this time," McKesson said. Copyright 2026 KCTV. All rights reserved.
