According to a CBS News Philadelphia report, construction in Tinicum Township redeveloped the site of the Hog Island Dock Terminal Facility. CBS News Philadelphia previously reported that Norwegian Cruise Line started sailing from a temporary terminal in April. Norwegian has a seven-year berthing agreement in Philadelphia that runs through March 2033. Early last Thursday, the Norwegian Jewel, which can accommodate 2,300 guests and offers voyages to the island of Bermuda, pulled into the new terminal, according to an NBC10 Philadelphia report. Economic projections suggest potential annual impacts of up to about 2,185 direct and indirect jobs and $315.5 million in economic output for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
