Can't believe this has happened! Any chance Omnicom will get Coca Cola? Was PepsiCo Omnicom's biggest client or is the biggest something else?

  • [comment u/circlehead28] Companies move agencies all the time, ESPECIALLY if a company recently acquires a new CEO. This was no-bid move… Seeing as Pepsi just changed their CEO at the end of 2025, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some sort of relationship between Publicis and the new Pepsi execs.

  • “The overarching thing that we’re not addressing is client optics. OMC prioritized the merger so much to drive their stock price up but deprioritized their accounts and talent. Did they expect that their employees were going to magically take their clients’ business to new heights without any incentive ? They axed everyone from the team building their AI tech. What were those people getting paid to”

  • “You can’t believe this happened? I mean this in the nicest way possible, have you been following what’s happening at Omnicom lately?”

  • “Lost a massive account and now they’re probably scrambling to cut costs somewhere, probably staff first. Coke would be a weird fit given the conflict history but stranger things have happened when money’s on the table. That AT&T account is still their heavy hitter I think”

  • “Omnicom writer here, time to dust off that screenplay idea... MARGO (ACD, 40s) / CARL (senior writer, 30s) MARGO: We lost Coca-Cola. CARL: (not looking up) No we didn't. MARGO: Email went out four minutes ago. CARL: (checks phone) ...Oh. We did. MARGO: Yeah. CARL: Jesus. Did anybody see this coming? MARGO: Nobody saw this coming. Word is Bob got the call from their CMO yesterday. We're done -”

  • “Happens. I’m not in either but I’d love to see Pepsi have a cultural impact again. If I were publicis, I’d love to see more than just a brand refresh, I’d want to adopt the Red Bull approach but for culture rather than extreme sports.”
