Sutter Health breaks ground on $380M advanced cancer center in Modesto. (FOX40.COM) - Sutter Health broke ground in Modesto on its advanced cancer center and care complex. The estimated $380 million project funded a new center across the street from the main entrance of the Memorial Medical Center off Coffee Road. The center will feature four stories of patient-centered space. About 120 physicians and 400 team members are set to serve patients in the new center. On Thursday, Sutter Health leaders spoke on the 50 exam rooms designed for more outpatient and clinical care that increase capacity to serve the region for future generations. The advanced cancer center site will be an all-inclusive location offering clinic visits, access to numerous cancer screenings, infusion and radiation therapy, specialized surgeries, imaging, lab, pharmacy and multiple complementary therapies. The center will also feature greater access to approximately 150 clinical trials. "We're going to be doing the things that provide better care for people at home. Right here where they need to be taken care of," President and CEO, Warner Thomas, said. Sutter officials said the new center is a key part of the hospital's commitment to expand health care services and enhance patient access for Central Valley residents.
