The US electric car manufacturer is once again increasing salaries at its only European plant and is simultaneously looking for additional staff. As Zeit online reports with material from the German Press Agency, wages at the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg are set to rise by an average of four to five percent on October 1. Production employees will receive five percent more, skilled workers four percent, plus a performance-related bonus. Tesla had already raised salaries by four percent in December 2025. According to the company, the entry-level salary in production is now around 45,750 euros per year. Tesla points out that wages have been increased every year since production started in March 2022. However, the company continues to reject a collective bargaining agreement. Despite the salary increase, IG Metall therefore sees a significant need for improvement and argues, among other things, with the lack of holiday and Christmas bonuses.
