What This Story Is About Why It Matters What Happens Next CLINTON, Tenn. (WVLT) - Clinton High School has unveiled a new engineering and robotics lab built inside its former agriculture shop, developed through a partnership between education nonprofit Heart of America and 3M, which operates a manufacturing plant approximately one mile from the school. The redesigned space consolidates what had previously been two classrooms spread across campus - roughly a 10-minute walk apart - into a single facility housing the school's engineering curriculum, competitive robotics team and advanced manufacturing training. The lab includes three new 3D printers, four robotic training work cell systems for mechatronics licensure, mobile desks, work tables and additional display screens. Engineering teacher Jimmy Davis said the equipment supports coursework ranging from basic computer-aided design through manufacturing work cell design and robotics applications. Davis, who has taught engineering at Clinton High School for nearly 10 years, said the program is student-driven and guided by industry partners. "As we know, industry is changing so quickly that even if we are teaching the same thing five years from now, we're probably doing a disservice to our students," Davis said. "So the growth and how things are going to rapidly evolve, I can't wait to see really what the students come up with."...
