The US biopharmaceutical group published positive preliminary results from a Phase III study evaluating the efficacy and safety of lutikizumab, an investigational antagonist for adults and adolescents with moderate to severe Verneuil's disease (hidradenitis suppurativa, HS). Jean-Yves Courtial Published on 10/22/2026 at 10:27 am EDT The trial met its primary endpoint as well as its eight ranked secondary endpoints. The study showed clinically meaningful response rates on the HiSCR75 endpoint, defined as a reduction of at least 75% in the number of abscesses and inflammatory nodules without an increase in the number of abscesses or draining fistulas, as early as Week 16. Lutikizumab also demonstrated significant benefits in patients' quality of life and symptom control. The safety profile was consistent with previous studies, with no new safety signals. Rates of treatment-emergent adverse events remained comparable between lutikizumab and placebo.
