Airbus Opens New A320 Assembly Line in Toulouse

Airbus has officially inaugurated its second modernised A320 Family final assembly line (FAL) at the Jean-Luc Lagardère facility in Toulouse, France, supporting the company’s plans to increase production of its single-aisle aircraft programme. The opening ceremony was led by Guillaume Faury, Chief Executive Officer of Airbus, and Lars Wagner, Chief Executive Officer of Airbus Commercial Aircraft. The event was attended by French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot, Airbus executives and employees. The new facility has been designed to support increasing demand for the A320 Family, particularly the A321neo, while strengthening Airbus’ global production network. Guillaume Faury said the addition of the new assembly line provides greater flexibility and capacity as Airbus works towards its production target of 75 A320 Family aircraft per month. The new line will operate alongside Airbus’ existing assembly facilities in Hamburg, Mobile, Tianjin and Toulouse, forming part of the company’s wider manufacturing strategy. The inauguration follows recent production expansions at Airbus facilities in Mobile, United States, and Tianjin, China. With the launch of the second Toulouse assembly line, Airbus is on track to operate ten A320 Family final assembly lines worldwide in 2026.
