FINDLAY, Ohio (WTVG) - Sheetz cut the ribbon Tuesday on a new food production and distribution facility in Findlay that is bringing hundreds of new jobs to the area. The $169 million facility has been five years in the making and will be a key part of the company's efforts to expand across the Midwest. "It really enables us for the growth that we have planned," Sheetz CEO Travis Sheetz said. "We're growing in Ohio with 140 stores today and many more to come. We're growing up into Michigan and west to Indiana. This location is just completely central to all of our future plans. It's been sorely needed, and we are excited that it's finally opening." The company has two other regional hubs to support its operations across Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. It's currently expanding into Indiana. The new facility in Findlay joins its other distribution centers in Claysburg, Pennsylvania and Burlington, North Carolina. CEO Travis Sheetz said the company has loved working with leaders in Hancock County. "It's a smaller town community feel, which we love," he said. "That's how we grew our company to begin with. The representatives here have been nothing but helpful from the beginning."
