Article excerpt
Apple TV has acquired the rights to Dustfall, an intense six-part crime drama produced by Soapbox Pictures and Moonriver Television and starring Emmy nominee Anna Torv (The Last of Us, Mindhunter). The script is by Dianne Taylor, adapting Vikki Petraitis's Davitt Awards Readers' Choice-winning novel "The Unbelieved", and direction is by Emma Freeman. Dustfall is an intense, atmospheric tropical noir following Antigone "Tig" Pollard (Torv), a veteran detective whose deeply rooted sense of justice clashes with a world where victims are doubted, predators hide in plain sight, and the justice system fails far too often. Tig is assigned to investigate a chilling sexual assault case that becomes even murkier when one of the main suspects turns up dead. In her search for the truth, she will have to confront secrets from her own adolescence that have been buried for years. The cast is rounded out by Juliet Stevenson, as well as Peter Fenton, Bert LaBonté, Zoe Phillips, Kate Box, Lila McGuire, Harry Gilchrist, Ling Cooper Tang, Gemma Chua-Tran, Alice Ansara, Martin Sacks, Theo Haitana, Conrad Coleby, Ben Knight, Kirsty O’Connor, Jay Ryan, Ed Wightman, and Luke J. Morgan. Apple TV will premiere Dustfall in 2027 in all territories except Australia, where it will air on ABC and ABC iview. BBC and ZDF retain premiere rights in their respective markets.
