US patent US12749084

Logical validation of devices against fraud and tampering

Abstract

Systems and methods directed to a payment server updating an attestation routine. A payment server can receive, from a merchant's payment terminal, attestation data based on execution of the attestation routine comprising test criteria. The payment server can determine a first indication of fraud associated with a payment transaction conducted at the payment terminal or a first indication of a tamper attempt associated with the payment transaction based at least in part on the attestation data and payment transaction data. The payment server can then receive a second indication that indicates improper denial or improper acceptance of the payment transaction. Based at least in part on the indications, the test criteria is updated and an updated attestation routine comprising the updated test criteria is generated.
