Oneida County hosted an invitation-only meeting at Mohawk Valley Community College in Rome, where Chobani officials shared updated renderings and a revised schedule for the $1.2 billion project. Chobani officials explained that construction is now expected to start next year. Operations are set to begin 15 months after construction starts, with the entire project expected to be finished by 2030. There are three phases of construction. The delay is partly due to changes in the facility's design. The new renderings show green space around the facility and other features, including a pond and what appear to be tennis or pickleball courts. When the project was first announced in 2025, estimated job creation was 1,000 positions, but Oneida County officials say it's closer to about 1,800 jobs. Roadwork is underway on the roads leading to the site, including a new roundabout on St. Rt. 825 in Rome. Oneida County is completing much of the site and infrastructure work at the Triangle Site using a mix of county and State of New York funding.
