Was hat ein 650-Tonnen-Kran mit Zahnpasta, Dämmstoffen oder Wasseraufbereitung zu tun? Mehr als du denkst. Kürzlich wurde in Ohrensen bei Hamburg mit einem 650-Tonnen-Kran ein einteiliges Regenwasser-Auffangbecken für unsere neue Salzkaverne eingesetzt. Der spektakuläre Hebevorgang ist Teil eines Projekts, das die Versorgung unseres Chemiewerks in Stade mit einem der wichtigsten Rohstoffe sichern soll: Salz. Denn bevor aus Salz Chlor, Natronlauge oder Wasserstoff werden, braucht es eine Infrastruktur, die oft Jahrzehnte im Voraus geplant wird. Zwischen den ersten Untersuchungen und der späteren Nutzung einer neuen Salzkaverne liegen häufig mehr als 10 Jahre. Das Foto macht sichtbar, was sonst oft im Verborgenen geschieht: die langfristige Planung, das technische Know-how und die Zusammenarbeit vieler Expertinnen und Experten, die notwendig sind, um industrielle Wertschöpfung zuverlässig zu ermöglichen. Ein schönes Beispiel dafür, dass hinter großen Industrieanlagen oft nicht nur Technik steckt, sondern vor allem Menschen, die Zukunft planen.
