The Hartford appoints new head of captive solutions. Mike Low succeeds Matt Moore in the role of head of captive solutions, after Moore joined Zurich North America last year Mike Low has been appointed head of captive solutions at The Hartford. Low has spent nearly eight years at The Hartford and had most recently been head of complex liability solutions for the group. The group said Low was recognised "for his ability to respond quickly to evolving market conditions and develop creative risk solutions that acutely meet customer needs." In his new role, he will continue to shape the direction of The Hartford's captive solutions business, overseeing single parent and group captives. He will work closely with brokers, captive managers, and boards to design and govern programmes. Low's appointment was one of two announced by The Hartford within its Middle & Large Business' Large & Complex business line. Dave Mendes was also appointed to lead both Hartford Excess Solutions (HES) and Complex Liability Solutions (CLS), strengthening alignment across The Hartford's Large & Complex casualty portfolio in the Middle & Large Business unit.
