I’ve flown Mint about half dozen times across all different meal blocks. I can honestly say there is nothing edible. Now in fairness I’m not a foodie, but I feel on an airplane you just need the basics done well…eggs, chicken, meat, a pasta. First of all the mixing of plates makes no sense. None of them work together and it’s like JetBlue is trying to give us upset stomachs in the air. The food is weird. Each time I realize there is hardly anything on the menu I eat and the flight attendants always say in sympathy “we know, it’s an eclectic mix” or “it’s odd” and then are nice enough to get me a random sandwich from economy. I’ve flown on just about every other first and business class airline around the world and never had any problem finding something to eat and in most instances there are a variety of items I can eat. I don’t know why JetBlue can’t get this right. It’s like they are trying so hard to be different, yet their tapas-in-the-air is a big failure.

  • [comment u/Islandra] I’m in mint about four to six times a month and while the meals are nothing to write home about they are significantly better than what Delta, AA, and United have to offer.

  • “I’m not quite as convinced their tapas in the air is a big failure as you are. I will say looking at their menus ahead of time online sometimes nudges me to pre order a special meal (simple eats usually) if I think it won’t work. But often I find their meals to be great. The way you described the crews sounds like they accommodated you fairly well. I don’t think airline meals will win everyone. Ha”

  • “People who expect airline food to be good are odd. It’s an airplane, not a 5 start restaurant. Why would you expect it to be good?”

  • “I found the exact opposite experience. The food quality is better than most airlines and the tapas style means there’s usually at least 1 dish that I would eat.”

  • “Yikes, sounds like this is a you problem. I’m in mint about four to six times a month and while the meals are nothing to write home about they are significantly better than what Delta, AA, and United have to offer. And I mean SIGNIFICANTLY better. You should know this if you’ve flown on just about every other first and business class airline. At this point, after six experiences you should just be”

I have not found the Mint food to really have a lot of flavor, especially on an airplane. The concept has a lot of potential, but the execution is lacking. Also, 3/4 choices for dishes (and no choice on shuteye service flights) is not really a choice.",
