GPT-Image-2.5 from OpenAI is now available in Luma Agents. The two new models address the most common frustrations in reference-led creative work. The first is edits that spill over: you ask to change a background and the subject's face shifts with it. The second is degradation across rounds: each revision costs a little quality until the fifth version looks worse than the first. Images 2.5 is better on both. Edits stay scoped to what you asked for, and consistency holds across multiple turns. Reference subjects stay recognizable in new settings. Lighting and texture read as natural. Transparent backgrounds and layered layouts come through intact. You get both models. GPT-Image-2.5 Flare is the default for most work, with higher quality than GPT-Image-2 at up to 50% lower latency, suited to creator content, product imagery, rapid prototyping, and high-volume generation. GPT-Image-2.5 Sunburst is tuned for premium creative where precision across edits matters more than speed: production-ready campaign imagery, hero product shots, anything that will be seen at full size. Inside Luma, the model is one step in a longer chain. Build and lock references in Layers, generate and refine with GPT-Image-2.5, then move the frame into motion with your Agent, all inside one project. Available today.
