Netflix is adding a brand-new thriller to its growing library of action films. Netflix is continuing to invest in action movies, as the genre has become incredibly successful on the streaming platform. Now, the company has confirmed that a new police helicopter thriller is on the way. And, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the streaming service will be teaming up with Narcos and Griselda director Andrés Baiz, who will helm the upcoming film. The new project is titled Helo and is currently in development at Netflix. Edward Berger, director of All Quiet on the Western Front and Conclave, is producing the film through his Nine Hours banner. His colleague Luke Rivett, who produced projects such as John Lithgow's The Tomorrow Man, will also be joining him as a producer. The movie would not be the first collaboration between Baiz and Netflix. The director has already established a solid working relationship with the streamer. Baiz directed multiple episodes of Narcos and Narcos: Mexico before directing the entire limited series Griselda, which starred Sofía Vergara. He has also helmed episodes of Netflix's adaptation of The Sandman. Baiz also recently finished production on another Netflix project, Fight for 84, a biographical sports drama starring Jamie Foxx.
