The funding will allow the association to provide carbon monoxide alarms to member volunteer fire and rescue departments for installation in homes across their first-due districts and emergency response areas. The program will operate alongside the association's existing smoke alarm initiative, which redistributes smoke alarms free of charge to member departments and companies for installation in residences throughout the region. Carbon monoxide alarms are a critical component of home safety, the fire rescue association said in a release.
