The new system will replace nine existing Army ammunition software platforms and provide a single authoritative view of munitions assets and processes. The competitively awarded order establishes a 12-month base period for Palantir to develop, configure and field the system's core capabilities. The contract also includes up to five optional years for continued optimisation and scaling. The Army selected Palantir through a three-phase competitive process completed in six weeks under the Army Open Solicitation. The first phase assessed solution briefs for relevance, innovation, scalability and feasibility, followed by live capability demonstrations and then formal proposals. Vendors were evaluated on their ability to integrate information from disparate legacy systems and provide planning and forecasting models. The Army also assessed whether proposed solutions could support tactical users operating in disconnected or low-bandwidth environments.
