Robinhood has opened its new 60K-SF Canadian headquarters at 25 York St. in downtown Toronto, completing a major expansion less than three years after establishing its first permanent office in the city. The financial technology company now has more than 200 employees in Toronto, with the new space designed to accommodate nearly 400. "This office is a testament to the incredible talent in Canada," said Johann Kerbrat, SVP and GM of Crypto and International. That is a sharp increase from June 2024, when Robinhood opened a smaller downtown office with more than 50 employees. The company subsequently leased 60K SF at 25 York, joining a wave of tenants that helped Menkes secure more than 200K SF of new leasing at the tower, including Co-operators Group and the Ontario Hospital Association. The 786K-SF, 30-storey tower at 25 York St. is connected directly to Union Station through the PATH and is a partnership between Menkes and the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan. Robinhood's expansion comes as larger technology users are again committing to substantial downtown footprints. Lyft last week opened its 90K-SF Toronto technology hub at First Canadian Place, an expansion expected to create more than 500 high-skilled jobs in Ontario.
