🌍 What makes a city one that travelers want to return to? The competitiveness of a tourism city can no longer be explained by visitor numbers alone. Understanding what travelers actually experience - and what makes them want to come back - is becoming increasingly important. Yanolja Research, Purdue University's CHRIBA, and the KHU Center for H&T Analytics jointly hosted the 2026 Global Tourism City Attractiveness Assessment seminar. Building on the 2025 assessment, this year's seminar introduced an enhanced Yanolja Attractiveness Index (Global Tourism City Attractiveness Index), refined with additional data and expert feedback. Participants explored changes in the attractiveness of major tourism cities worldwide, regional competitive dynamics, and each city's strengths and areas for improvement. The discussion also covered strategic approaches to strengthening the global positioning of Korean tourism cities.
