There were predictions that AI would replace review platforms. But as AI search adoption grew, a trust gap emerged. According to Pew Research, 49% of American adults now use chatbots, up from 33% in 2024 - but only 6% trust AI answers "a lot." And our own research with Morning Consult found that 63% double-check AI results against other sources. Turns out, when every AI needs ground truth - evidence users can actually trust - Yelp's reliable human-generated content matters. That's why ChatGPT, Apple Maps, Amazon Alexa+, Microsoft Bing, and others have integrated Yelp’s trusted reviews, photos, and business information, as well as our task completion features like Yelp Reservations and Waitlists. But ground truth doesn't create itself. We've spent 20 years building and maintaining systems that keep our content trustworthy, reliable, and authentic.
